Job Description

Lightspeed is seeking an Intermediate Backend Developer to join its team in Montreal. The role focuses on building an advanced, modular users and permissions framework for the Hospitality product group. The mission is to empower multi-location merchants by simplifying the configuration and management of their business setup.

The developer will collaborate with industry experts, enhance the omnichannel product, and contribute to the AWS-hosted, microservice-based platform. They will balance new feature development with maintaining existing integrations, participate in agile ceremonies, and advocate for code quality.

What this role involves:

Requirements:

  • Outstanding Java knowledge with 3+ years of production usage experience
  • Expert knowledge of the Spring framework
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
  • Experience in automated testing frameworks
  • Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
  • Proficiency in English
