Software Development Manager

Job Description

Lightspeed is seeking a Software Development Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical delivery and the ability to provide technical advice on decisions impacting other teams or the company. This role involves owning the engagement and performance of engineers, developing resilience, and nurturing high-performance.

What this role involves:

• Coaching, mentoring, guiding, and motivating a team of engineers.
• Helping the team deliver code in a high-trust environment using continuous delivery.
• Leading by example, writing code, helping with code reviews, and fixing bugs.
• Providing technical advice and documentation for systems/processes.
• Evaluating the performance of the technical architecture of our infrastructure and adopt industry trends.

Requirements:

• Experience providing technical leadership to deliver solutions to complex problems.
• Experience architecting solutions and managing delivery.
• Experience working on major systems in one or more languages, ideally on a SaaS product.
• Adaptability and the ability to build, change, and adapt to the needs of a growing company.
• Previous people leadership experience is ideal.
