Lightspeed is seeking a talented Staff Backend Developer to join its energetic team focused on building an advanced, modular users and permissions framework. This role is within the Hospitality product group, aiding the company's goal to expand into new markets and strengthen its comprehensive commerce platform. The mission is to empower multi-location merchants by making it easy to configure and manage their business setup, regardless of size or complexity.

The Staff Backend Developer will be part of a vibrant, collaborative team dedicated to enhancing engineering practices, implementing advanced technology, and maintaining an engaging work environment. The work will play a pivotal role in redefining hospitality experiences worldwide.

What this role involves:

• Collaborating with industry experts to enhance the omnichannel product.
• Contributing to the AWS-hosted, microservice-based platform.
• Balancing new feature development with maintenance of existing partner integrations.
• Reporting to the Development Team Lead and interacting with Product Managers, Product Designers, and Platform Teams.
• Participating in agile ceremonies and advocating for superior code quality.
• Fostering team growth through knowledge sharing.

Requirements:

• Outstanding Java knowledge with 8+ years of production usage experience.
• Expert knowledge of the Spring framework.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Experience in automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency in English.
