Experienced Backend Engineer (Java)

Job Description

Gong is seeking an experienced Backend Engineer specializing in Java to tackle complex technical challenges and develop scalable, production-grade systems. The engineer will work with cutting-edge technologies, shaping Gong's SaaS product from inception to execution. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in a dynamic startup environment.

Role involves:
• Developing solutions that balance innovation and practicality.
• Developing complex systems and services that run in production at scale.
• Exploring and learning new fields, APIs, and cutting-edge technologies including AI and ML.
• Owning the features developed, while collaborating with product and UX teams.
• Translating the company's vision into a solid SaaS product.

Requirements:
• Significant hands-on experience in developing web applications.
• 5+ years of development experience.
• Experience with Java.
• Experience with large-scale, cloud-based web applications.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Excellent communicator and team player, with verbal and written skills in English.
• Someone who enjoys having responsibility and experiencing ownership of the created product.
• A person who enjoys working in a team with very strong peers.
