Job Description
Rocket Lab is seeking a Senior Vehicle Integration and Test Technician to play a crucial role in the build of the Neutron launch vehicle. The technician will work closely with system Responsible Engineers and a team of technicians to lead the build, integration, and test of the Neutron launch vehicle's mechanical, fluids, and avionics systems. This role requires a multi-discipline problem solver with a broad understanding of Launch Vehicle systems and an extreme eye for detail.What This Role Involves:
  • Creating and implementing assembly and test procedures for Neutron.
  • Collaborating with system owners to develop and document procedures.
  • Providing hands-on leadership and guidance to a team of technicians.
  • Leading and training technicians in industry standards for aerospace flight components.
  • Troubleshooting unforeseen issues and driving workflow improvements.
  • Supporting other operations to enable rapid processing of Neutron.
  • Helping specify and set up technician workstations and tooling.
  • Working with the Neutron production team at the Rocket Lab Space Structures Complex in Baltimore MD.
  • Working with Rocket Lab manufacturing and integration teams in Auckland, New Zealand; Long Beach, CA; and Stennis Space Center, MS.
Requirements:
  • 8+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 5+ years experience in the assembly and testing of launch vehicle fluid systems.
Nice to Have:
  • Maintenance skills including troubleshooting, precision cleaning, components disassembly/assembly, system testing.
  • Experience with equipment such as forklift, telehandler, boom lift, scissor lift, power tools, and torque wrenches.
  • Experience with cleanroom work and ISO cleanliness standards.
  • Fabrication skills including tube bending, tube flaring, and mechanical assembly.
  • Avionics installation and harness routing experience.
