Job Description
Rocket Lab is seeking a Senior Avionics Manufacturing Engineer to join their team in Long Beach, CA. In this role, the engineer will develop, implement, and continuously improve avionics processes, leveraging their expertise in EEE piece parts, PCB, PCBA, electromechanical assembly, tooling, test, and quality techniques. The Senior Avionics Manufacturing Engineer will support the Director of Manufacturing and the Production and Design organizations, contributing to deliverables for internal leadership, the board of directors, and investors.
What this role involves: - Providing solutions for reliability and quality of electromechanical assemblies and associated test fixtures.
- Developing and executing unique test methods for mission-critical and safety-critical avionics hardware.
- Analyzing and resolving manufacturing discrepancies and non-conformances.
- Developing production procedures and processes.
- Contributing to design reviews.
- Overseeing the introduction and implementation of new products and product revisions.
- Maintaining new planning, production, quality, ERP, data collection and analysis, and other processes.
Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering, aerospace engineering, or a similar engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in an avionics, electrical, or electrical/mechanical-focused manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of electronic circuits, design principles, and manufacturing techniques.
