Job Description
Rocket Lab is seeking a Quality Engineer I/II to support Space Systems Assembly operations in Long Beach, CA. This role focuses on eliminating mission risks and increasing productivity within the Space Systems Division. The Quality Engineer will report to the Quality Manager and Production organization, providing deliverables for internal leadership, the board of directors, and investors.What this role involves:- Identifying and prioritizing risks to mission success.
- Creating and executing action plans to resolve problems.
- Steering cross-functional teams and holding members accountable.
- Supporting and leading process failure mode and effect analysis (PFMEA).
- Driving implementation of built-in quality fundamentals (Check-Do-Check).
- Providing rapid response and problem resolution for containment and risk mitigation activities.
- Identifying and categorizing quality problems.
- Leading teams to identify and resolve root causes using tools like 5 Whys, Cause and Effect analysis, and 8Ds.
- Supporting the Quality inspection team.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, or industrial engineering, or equivalent.
- Experience in the Aerospace industry.
- Experience in Assembly and integration.
- GD&T knowledge.
- Experience with AS9100.

- 2+ years of experience in a quality role
