Job Description

Rocket Lab is seeking a Manager of Direct Procurement to lead the raw material procurement team at their Long Beach, CA headquarters. This role involves building and managing a high-performing team focused on raw materials such as aluminum, composites, and 3D printed materials for launch and space programs. The Manager will report to the Senior Director of Direct Procurement and will be responsible for developing a global commodity strategy, negotiating pricing, and managing supplier relationships.Responsibilities:

• Manage a procurement team focused on raw materials.
• Procure direct materials to support production and engineering development.
• Develop a global commodity strategy for cost, quality, and delivery.
• Negotiate pricing and create cost models.
• Manage supplier relationships and performance.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, supply chain, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in purchasing, with management experience.
• Experience working in a cross-functional team.
• Proven ability to source, onboard, and contract with suppliers.
• Ability to define team strategy and build operating plans.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%.
