Job Description
TransferGo is seeking a Backend Engineer (PHP) to join their DevEx team in Vilnius, Lithuania. The DevEx team focuses on improving the engineering experience by optimizing the PHP codebase, streamlining workflows, and enhancing internal tooling. This role offers a chance to impact the productivity of other engineering teams and contribute to the overall engineering strategy.
The Backend Engineer will report to the Engineering Director and will be responsible for maintaining services in a cloud-native, service-oriented environment. They will have a high level of autonomy in implementing solutions and managing production operations. The ideal candidate is passionate about clean code, enjoys working behind the scenes, and is committed to continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining services in a cloud-native, service-oriented environment.
- Shaping engineering strategy and roadmap.
Requirements:
- Working experience with PHP.
- Ability to detect problems and create solutions.
- Strong sense of ownership.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Ability to champion engineering innovation and best practices.
- Experience with .NET (preferred).
- Exposure to working with microservices (preferred).
