Job Description
Vonage is seeking an Engineering Manager to contribute to the innovation of cloud communications for businesses globally. This role involves leading a team of software engineers in the development of a best-in-class fraud prevention platform. The Engineering Manager will work on both new and existing projects, providing opportunities to explore new technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Building systems to add features across the messaging platform.
- Providing direction to a team of software engineers, creating scalable microservices.
- Working with product owners and customers to understand use cases and business requirements.
- Leading team members in the planning and delivery of product/solution releases.
- Assigning, managing, and performing project work, including scope, schedule, resource allocation, and cost estimation.
- Ensuring the delivery of secure, high-quality, well-tested, and scalable software.
- Assisting with the maintenance and prioritization of the product development backlog.
- Ensuring team activities align with organizational goals.
- Writing efficient and scalable code in well-tested systems.
- Developing on AWS infrastructure.
Requirements:
- Engineering leadership skills.
- Practical understanding of high-performance, highly distributed computing.
- Strong focus on testing.
- Excellent software engineering skills in Java.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
