Job Description
Airtable is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead its HyperDB team in San Francisco, CA. The Engineering Manager will partner with cross-functional peers to deliver solutions for large customers to operationalize their data. HyperDB, Airtable’s system for storing and operationalizing massive amounts of data, was officially released at the end of last year.This role involves:
- Leading, managing, and growing a team of high-functioning engineers building HyperDB.
- Driving technical decisions and initiatives to build products in a high-quality and sustainable way.
- Nurturing a team of passionate and capable engineers, partnering with senior engineers, and coaching early-career engineers.
- Partnering with product management and design to execute against short and long-term strategy.
- Implementing processes to help the team scale and be productive.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 5+ years of experience as an engineer and 2+ years as a manager.
- Experience navigating large-scale technical systems.
- Experience leading high-performing engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience growing and mentoring engineers.
- Experience managing, organizing, and prioritizing multiple projects.
- Strong customer focus.
- Experience working closely with Product Managers.
