Software Engineer, Product Frontend (6+ YOE)

Job Description

Airtable is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to join the Core Experience team. This role focuses on enhancing the accessibility and usability of the Airtable web client. The engineer will collaborate with product, design, research, and data science teams to develop and implement new features, with a strong emphasis on improving accessibility within the Interfaces layer of the product.Role involves:

• Specifying and writing code to improve accessibility and overall usability of the Airtable web client.
• Collaborating with infrastructure teams to build and incorporate tooling to systematically improve the codebase in regards to accessibility.
• Partnering with product teams to uplevel standard feature development workflows and incorporate accessibility best practices.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience writing client-side TypeScript (preferred) or JavaScript and React.
• 6+ years of industry experience building software.
• Experience with screen reader technologies.
• Understanding of and empathy for the needs and challenges of people with disabilities using browser-based software.
• Background in computer science or a related field.
• Currently based and/or will be based in the San Francisco Bay Area or New York City.
