Later is seeking a Technical Manager to lead a team of software and QA/Test developers. The Technical Manager will report to a Director of Software Development and will be responsible for delivering high-quality, performant software for Later's social performance platform. This role requires strong leadership skills, a passion for technology and culture, and a collaborative approach to partner with individuals across the organization.
The Technical Manager will play a player-coach role, supporting and developing their development team while leading by example with their technical acumen and inclusive approach.

- Leading a team of individual contributors to produce strong business outcomes.
- Full Career Development cycle for individual contributors, including regular 1:1s, coaching, and feedback.
- Working closely with product managers and designers to understand scope and delivery requirements.
- Managing changes in project scope, priorities, and team structure.
- Using data and metrics to understand, measure, and manage team and individual performance.
- Providing regular updates on project status and potential issues.
- Fostering a culture of innovation and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Contributing to deliverables as a player/coach.
- Overseeing the implementation of quality assurance processes.
Requirements:
- Experience in a leadership role, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management.
- 3+ years of experience in software engineering aspects (coding, testing, maintenance, architecture, security).
- 3+ years of experience building or supporting the delivery of SaaS.
- Background in hands-on software engineering, specifically building web/mobile applications at scale.
- Experience working with product managers, designers, and stakeholders.
- Ability to use data and metrics to manage team performance.
- Strong communication skills.
- Expertise with Agile software development processes.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience fostering a culture of innovation.
- Experience overseeing the implementation of quality assurance processes.
