Security Engineer (Infrastructure), Public Sector

Job Description

Scale AI is seeking a Security Engineer to join their team in Washington, DC. This role focuses on infrastructure security within the public sector, contributing to federal AI projects. The engineer will work closely with public sector customers, ensuring their satisfaction and continued engagement with Scale's solutions. The Infrastructure Security Engineer will design and implement secure, scalable backend systems on top of Scale’s modern, cloud-native AI infrastructure.

Role involves:

• Designing and implementing secure scalable backend systems for Public Sector customers.
• Owning services or systems and defining their long-term health goals.
• Improving engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define and execute the vision for backend solutions.
• Participating actively in customer engagements.
• Contributing to the platform roadmap and product strategy for Scale AI's Public Sector business.

Requirements:

• An active security clearance, and the ability to obtain a TS/SCI with CI Poly.
• Understanding of containerization (e.g., Docker) and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with Federal Compliance frameworks, and requirements(e.g, Cloud SRG, FedRAMP, STIG Benchmarks, etc).
• Experience developing software & technical solutions that meet strict security & regulatory compliance requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Willingness to embrace new technologies and adapt to evolving project requirements.
• Must be able to support work 3-4 days a week from the DC or STL office.
