Job Description
Cortea, a Berlin-based startup supported by Cherry Ventures, is transforming audits through AI technology. They are seeking a Founding Software Engineer (Backend) to join their team and help build Cortea from the ground up. This role involves working on the API powering their web app and building robust RAG pipelines. The ideal candidate will have expertise in building and consuming APIs, a solid understanding of relational databases, and experience with asynchronous systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Building and consuming APIs.
  • Ensuring robust, safe, and scalable RAG pipelines.
  • Working with queues and asynchronous processes.
  • Running experiments and defining evaluation criteria.
  • Participating in technical and people leadership discussions.

Requirements:
  • Expertise in building and consuming APIs.
  • Experience with asynchronous systems.
  • Solid understanding of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL).
  • Experience in Python and familiarity with a statically typed language.
  • Familiarity with IaC standards and cloud platforms (e.g., Terraform, GCP, AWS, or Azure).
  • Experience in building and operating SaaS solutions.
