Platform Engineer - AI procurement Startup Berlin

Job Description

Forgent AI, supported by Cherry Ventures, is seeking a Platform Engineer to join their founding technical team in Berlin. This role involves shaping the product and technology while building reliable software for public procurement.

The Platform Engineer will design, implement, and manage the core infrastructure underpinning Forgent AI's products. They will tackle technical constraints related to AI workloads, data security, and scalability, applying cloud practices to deliver a platform for developers and systems for users.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, automate, and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS.
• Manage and optimize the database layer.
• Implement and manage security practices across the platform.
• Collaborate with product engineers and founders to understand application requirements.
• Take ownership of platform components, ensuring high availability.
• Actively collaborate with colleagues through infrastructure design reviews.
• Identify opportunities for improving the platform.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience designing, building, and managing cloud-native infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools like AWS CloudFormation.
• Strong database management skills, particularly with PostgreSQL.
• Understanding of cloud security principles and authentication/authorization mechanisms.
• Experience designing for enterprise readiness requirements.
• Excellent communication skills in written and verbal English.
