Job Description
Moniepoint, Africa's all-in-one financial ecosystem, is seeking a Head of Recovery to shape and execute the company's loan recovery strategy. This role is crucial for minimizing credit losses and optimizing the effectiveness of the recovery unit. The Head of Recovery will develop and implement recovery strategies, design the recovery organization, and recruit top talent. A data-driven approach is essential for evaluating the effectiveness of strategies and personnel.
The role involves engaging with external stakeholders, including law enforcement and legal firms, and establishing a streamlined process to maximize the recovery of delinquent and non-performing loans. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in recovery and credit risk, strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills, leadership abilities, and a commitment to high ethical standards.
What this role involves:
- Developing and executing recovery strategies.
- Designing the recovery organization and supervising the hiring process.
- Optimizing the effectiveness of the recovery team.
- Providing training to the recovery network.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with external partners.
- Reporting on recovery performance.
- Collaborating with internal departments.
Requirements:
- A minimum of a B.Sc/H.ND in any business related discipline
- At least 10 years of experience in credit recovery, debt collection, or risk management within the banking sector in Nigeria
- Strong network of legal and law enforcement contacts across the country
- Proven experience in leading a recovery team and managing high-value non-performing loans
- Proven experience in handling recovery in each of the 6 geo-political zones in Nigeria
- Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret financial data
