Senior Manager, Engineering | Framework

Job Description

ExtraHop is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Framework team. This team is responsible for developing and optimizing the foundational components that power ExtraHop's cybersecurity and network detection products. The ideal candidate will drive technical excellence, ensure timely delivery of high-quality products, and cultivate an environment that promotes innovation and collaboration.Responsibilities:

• Partner with Product Management to translate strategic product visions into actionable feature releases.
• Lead design and implementation decisions on technically complex projects.
• Collaborate with the QA/Performance team to uphold high standards of stability, quality, and scalability.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance during critical escalations and manage customer issue resolution.
• Develop, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team.
• Encourage continuous learning and the adoption of cutting-edge technologies.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years in engineering management.
• Experience in systems-level software development using C, C++, or Java.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP) and secure network communications (SSL, x509).
• Deep technical knowledge in areas such as cryptography, compression, and memory management.
• Solid understanding of Linux and Windows OS.
• Proven track record in Agile software development methodologies.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
