Senior Counsel - Policy and Regulation

Job Description

Betsson Group is seeking a Senior Regulatory Counsel to join their Legal and Compliance department in Malta. The role involves monitoring local, European, and international governmental and institutional developments, advising the business on regulatory matters, and representing the group at various association meetings. The Senior Regulatory Counsel will prepare papers, make interventions, and provide feedback to relevant organizations. They will also support the management of regulatory risk, review business proposals and legislative initiatives, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders. This position reports to the General Counsel and offers opportunities for career growth within the organization. International travel is required.

• Following local, European and international governmental and institutional developments
• Keeping abreast with all relevant regulatory developments
• Advising the business in relation to the same
• Preparing papers, making interventions on behalf of the group with regard to various areas
• Providing feedback to relevant organisations on the line to take in their different initiatives

• Qualified lawyer with a law degree from a reputable university
• Specialized knowledge in European Union law
• At least five years’ experience as a lawyer
• Excellent command of the English language
• ‘Can-do’ approach and adaptability to change
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
