Job Description
Betsson Group is seeking a Backend Engineering Tech Lead to join their Player Account Management (PAM) team. This role is based in Malta and offers the opportunity to drive technical excellence in a dynamic, international environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the latest technologies and capable of handling company-critical responsibilities.
Role Involves:
- Driving technical excellence in products.
- Facilitating technical design, decisions, troubleshooting, and delivery.
- Supporting managers in building world-class engineering teams.
- Proactively researching new technologies and developing POCs.
- Identifying and championing technical improvements.
- Ensuring architectural direction and standards are implemented.
- Taking the lead on technical design decisions.
- Serving as a key technical point of contact.
- Participating in technical interviews and providing feedback.
- Leading technical training sessions.
Requirements:
- Strong technical background with an understanding of non-functional requirements.
- Expertise in designing and implementing distributed microservices (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Deep understanding of real-time messaging patterns (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Couchbase).
- Experience with observability practices (Grafana, OpenTelemetry).
- Experience in coaching and mentoring.
- Ability to work on own initiative and under pressure.
- Technical proficiency with .NET technology stack (preferred).
- Working experience with AWS (preferred).
- Clear verbal & written communication.
