Senior Python Engineer

Job Description

Primer is seeking a Senior Python Engineer to contribute to its mission of making the world a safer place by providing trusted decision-ready AI. This role involves developing new application features, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and solving technical challenges related to natural language processing and machine learning technology. The Senior Python Engineer will have the opportunity to impact the company's tooling, coding standards, and codebase. Located in San Francisco, Pasadena, or Washington D.C., or remotely, the ideal candidate will help shape the architectural principles and adoption of new model training frameworks.

What this role involves:

• Developing new application features leveraging ingest pipelines and model library
• Collaborating on the Delta product to design an information retrieval architecture
• Working with machine learning engineers and data scientists to extend the platform’s capabilities with new models and algorithms
• Working on massive datasets, integrating with features like event and topic detection

Requirements:

• Expertise in Python and another Object-Oriented language
• Expertise in Flask, ElasticSearch, PostgreSQL, Redis
• Experience leading commercial software technical features end-to-end in an agile environment
• Strong modeling and design patterns for extensibility and resiliency
• Experience with data ingestion, processing, and retrieval systems at scale
• Experience working with real-time and distributed systems
• 5+ years of shipping production grade software
