Director, Engineering

Job Description

FLYR is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead the Digital Customer Experience (DCX) Engineering team in Manizales, Colombia. This team is building an API-First Product to enable travel use cases for millions of airline customers globally. The Director will oversee the engineering organization, champion engineering excellence, and build a world-class global engineering team.Responsibilities include:

• Leading and managing Engineering Managers, Engineers, and Architects.
• Collaborating cross-functionally with Product teams and internal stakeholders.
• Championing engineering and operational excellence.
• Building and retaining a world-class global engineering team.
• Creating a strong engineering culture.
• Scaling the organization by fostering autonomous teams.
• Staying up-to-date on software engineering trends.
• Identifying and mitigating technical risks.
• Mentoring and developing Engineering Managers and Staff level Engineers.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in software engineering.
• 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
• Experience leading multiple teams.
• Experience working with distributed teams.
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality software.
• Ability to inspire and motivate a team.
• Strong technical background in building and managing infrastructure at scale.
