Job Description

FLYR is seeking a Staff Java/Golang Engineer to join its Order Management team in Kraków. The engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining product features for the Order Management System. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and performance optimization.

The role involves:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining new product features using Java and Golang.
  • Optimizing database structures and writing efficient queries using Postgres/Google Spanner.
  • Collaborating with other teams to gather requirements and define service specifications.
  • Ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance of the system.
  • Implementing monitoring, logging, and analytics solutions.
  • Automating deployment processes and managing infrastructure as code.
  • Providing technical expertise and leadership in product design and delivery.
  • Troubleshooting and supporting production issues.
  • Maintaining comprehensive documentation.

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience as a Backend Developer (including 3+ years as Java Developer).
  • Proficiency in Database and SQL knowledge.
  • Solid understanding of RESTful API design principles and microservices architecture.
  • Experience running high-load and high-uptime services in production.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native technologies.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to grow the engineering-excellence culture and mentor other Engineers.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC) with a focus on Agile methodologies (preferably SCRUM).
  • Experience with building CI/CD pipelines.
  • Past experience with the QA processes in software development.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies and processes.
