Staff Machine Learning Engineer

Job Description

Primer is seeking a Staff Machine Learning Engineer to spearhead the development and enhancement of its data-driven products. This role involves taking projects from the research phase to production, utilizing expertise in algorithms, embeddings, language models, and prompt engineering.

The Staff Machine Learning Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers and engineers, to empower users with AI tools. They will influence the technology vision and roadmap.

Primer has offices in San Francisco, Pasadena, CA and Arlington, VA.

Role responsibilities include:

• Understanding NLP problems and making strategic investments.
• Designing and developing distributed architectures and systems.
• Working with massive datasets and integrating features like event and topic detection.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Improving engineering practices.

Requirements:

• BS, MS, or PhD in computer science or related field.
• 10+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Mastery of data structures and algorithms.
• Experience with machine learning algorithms and tools (e.g., Numpy, PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• Experience authoring APIs in Python or Golang.
