Staff Big Data Engineer at ZipRecruiter

ZipRecruiter is seeking a Staff Big Data Engineer to join its product teams in Tel Aviv. The ideal candidate will have expertise in cloud technologies, big data, and distributed systems. The engineer will design and build key components and infrastructure for ZipRecruiter's data science and engineering team, empowering fellow engineers and data scientists to build best-in-class machine learning-based products.

The role involves:

• Building infrastructure to empower engineers and data scientists.
• Working in a high-volume production environment.
• Mastering scalability and enterprise-grade production services.
• Leading design for new products and initiatives.
• Working with technologies including Spark, Delta Lake, Elasticsearch, Kafka, DynamoDB, and K8s.
• Collaborating within a highly skilled team.

Minimum requirements include:

• 10+ years of coding experience with Python or Scala.
• End-to-end feature ownership experience.
• Experience with technologies like Spark, Flink, MapReduce, Airflow, Kafka, DynamoDB, and SQL DBs.
• Experience dealing with data on high volume, high availability production systems.
• Fluency with SQL.

Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience working with a cloud provider (AWS / Azure / GCP).
• Experience in algorithm design and implementation or Machine learning
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent professional Software Engineering experience
