Job Description
Backbase is seeking a Senior Application Security Engineer to guide and support developer teams in delivering secure banking solutions. The candidate will analyze software for security vulnerabilities, provide guidance on secure coding, and improve security in the SDLC. They will also validate application security requirements, perform code reviews, and mentor new team members. Backbase is looking for someone with a hacker mindset and a passion for security.
Responsibilities include:
- Analyzing software for security vulnerabilities
- Guiding developers and QA engineers on secure coding
- Improving security in the SDLC
- Validating application security requirements
- Performing security code reviews
- Mentoring new team members
Requirements:
- Good understanding of application security and common vulnerabilities
- Expertise in frontend, backend, or mobile security
- Good understanding of DevOps and cloud native technologies
- Track record in resolving application security issues
- Background in development and understanding of the SDLC
- Professional level English
The role offers opportunities to grow knowledge in:
- Implementing OWASP ASVS/M-ASVS and SKF
- Implementing SAST, SCA, IAST and RASP tools in the SDLC
- Facilitating threat modeling sessions
- Pen testing web and mobile applications
- Training developers on application security concepts
- Relevant regulations such as GDPR and PCI-DSS
