Job Description
Backbase is seeking a Technical Director to lead the implementation of its products into the systems of leading banks and financial institutions. The Technical Director will oversee a portfolio of projects, manage delivery teams, and translate project insights into product vision. This role involves being part of a management team, running a fintech business, and utilizing expert technical knowledge and leadership skills.
The role involves:
- Leading kick-start sessions with clients and partners to discuss technical requirements.
- Managing and mitigating technical risks.
- Defining strategies and aligning them with standards.
- Identifying and following up on technical improvements.
- Supervising technical specifics and supporting and evaluating the team.
- Traveling regularly on a global scale.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A master's degree in IT.
- Experience creating solutions for financial services institutions, especially banking.
- A client-centered mindset and a passion for over-delivering.
- Strong hands-on programming skills.
- Strong applied Agile experience.
- Strong communication skills.
- Familiarity with designing customer-journey-driven architectures.
- Expert knowledge of application servers, databases, load balancers, and other infrastructure components.
- Expertise in Enterprise Integration Patterns and Frameworks, Spring, Maven & Jenkins, Java platform, JavaScript frameworks, MVC patterns, REST APIs, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), and Microservices architecture.
- Comfort with traveling 20%-50% of the time.
