Job Description

Rockstar Games is seeking an experienced HR Manager for their Toronto studio. This role involves supporting and improving day-to-day HR operations while contributing to global HR initiatives. The HR Manager will play a crucial role in various HR functions, including benefits, payroll, compensation, immigration, employee engagement/relations, and communications.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for conceptualizing, planning, and implementing new projects and programs for the studio, aligning with the global HR team. They should be highly accountable, organized, and flexible, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and provide excellent customer service. The HR Manager will work closely with multiple stakeholders within HR and across the organization, contributing to an agile and creative environment.

What this role involves:

  • Leading and delivering HR processes, programs, and initiatives.
  • Serving as a subject matter expert for HR systems and processes.
  • Advising and coaching management on employee relations issues.
  • Managing the full employee lifecycle from onboarding to offboarding.
  • Overseeing the annual performance review cycle.
  • Partnering with stakeholders across payroll, compensation, benefits, immigration, legal, and compliance.
  • Managing internal mobility and immigration requirements.
  • Maintaining employee documentation and information within the HRIS.
  • Producing employee metrics and reporting.
  • Supporting Rockstar culture within the Toronto studio.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an HR-related discipline or similar.
  • A minimum of 7 years in HR with 2 years in a HR lead/manager role.
  • Excellent understanding of current Ontario/Canadian employment legislation and best practice.
  • Strong ability to organize and prioritize workload, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Highly flexible and approachable, understanding shifting priorities based on organizational and business direction.
  • Adaptable and confident dealing with various stakeholders of all levels.
  • Confidentiality, diplomacy, and commitment to the needs of Rockstar employees are essential.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel), communication tools, and HR systems.
