Customer Data Engineer (Canada- Remote)

Job Description

League is seeking a Customer Data Engineer to deploy data models to customer data environments and ensure customers can derive value from the data. The Customer Data Engineer will use their expertise in data infrastructure and data modeling to design, build, maintain, and optimize League's data warehouse, providing clean and robust datasets to internal and external stakeholders. The role involves close collaboration with backend developers, data analysts, and product managers to understand data sources and downstream uses of data models.

The ideal candidate thrives in cross-functional teams and understands the business impact of their work on customer satisfaction and retention. They enjoy working with product management to enhance the customer experience and balance technical complexity with delivering measurable customer value. The platform runs on Google Cloud, and the engineer will build infrastructure for real-time and batch pipelines to ingest and transform data.

Responsibilities:

• Support data integrations and data ingress infrastructure for League’s customers.
• Communicate directly with customers to coordinate product launches and provide ongoing support.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure the impact on data sources and data models is considered during product development.
• Support data analysts, data scientists, and product managers by understanding how they will be working with our data.
• Develop best practices for data model design and documentation.
• Build strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and with customers.
• Identify opportunities for technical investments to help teams meet business objectives.

Requirements:

• Experience with Python, GoLang, and SQL, and working with a modern ETL framework and orchestration engine (DBT, Airflow, etc.).
• Experience working as a data engineer, analytics engineer, data analyst, or data scientist.
• Undergraduate or Masters degree in business administration, statistics, computer science, or a related quantitative discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
