Cisco ThousandEyes is seeking a Senior Network Support Engineer to join their Customer Engineering team. This role involves helping customers understand and resolve issues related to Internet-based service delivery. The ideal candidate will be an out-of-the-box thinker with strong data-driven decision-making skills.
Role involves:
Providing advanced technical expertise and leadership in solving complex customer issues.
Creating and delivering technical documentation, training materials, and knowledge content.
Partnering with Engineering and Product teams to address product issues and influence roadmap decisions.
Guiding and mentoring junior engineers.
Utilizing software skills to configure, troubleshoot, or automate product workflows.
Driving serviceability, usability, and product improvement efforts.
Representing the support function in cross-functional meetings and customer engagements.
Contributing to digital transformation through scripts, automation tools, and reusable assets.
Promoting a culture of collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence.
Requirements:
A standout "customer first" attitude.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
5–8+ years of experience in a technical support, engineering, or related customer-facing role.
Expert-level certifications (e.g., CCIE) or equivalent advanced technical credentials preferred.
Expertise in one or more technical domains and broad knowledge across networking technologies.
Proficiency in automation, programmability, orchestration, virtualization, and/or security.
Ability to read and apply industry standards, RFCs, and architectural documents.
Experience mentoring team members and driving team goals into actionable initiatives.
Ability to influence product development through trends analysis and cross-functional collaboration.
