Job Description

Cisco ThousandEyes is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer II to join their Engineering Effectiveness team. This team focuses on empowering engineers by providing the necessary software solutions, processes, infrastructure, and support to efficiently design, implement, test, and operationalize code at scale. The role involves collaborating with various engineering teams to ensure a seamless end-to-end developer experience across the development, infrastructure, release, and operational lifecycle.This role involves:

• Designing and implementing system integrations with the internal developer portal, Backstage.
• Delivering automated and scalable solutions for the production path.
• Providing engineers with comprehensive visibility into their service development lifecycle by consolidating data from various systems.
• Leveraging AI technologies to enhance engineering processes, testing approaches, deployment pipelines, and operational procedures.

Requirements for this position include:

• 6+ years of experience in the industry.
• High-quality software design and development skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Authority level with container orchestration tools and platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, Argo, ECS).
• Guide level proficiency with automated build and release pipelines and related tooling (e.g., Github Actions, Gitlab).
• Expert level proficiency with any of these programming languages: Golang, Java, or Python.
• Passion about development and engineering best practices.
• Proficiency with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with infrastructure management tools (e.g., Terraform, Puppet, Ansible).
