Senior Site Reliability Engineer, Infrastructure

Job Description

Cisco ThousandEyes is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join their Infrastructure SRE team in San Francisco. The successful candidate will be integral to designing and operating highly-available, distributed systems in the cloud, collaborating with other site reliability and application development teams to ensure the reliability and performance of the ThousandEyes platform infrastructure and services.Role involves:

• Designing and operating highly-available, distributed systems in the cloud.
• Collaborating with other site reliability and application development teams.
• Ensuring the reliability and performance of the ThousandEyes platform infrastructure and services.
• Optimizing infrastructure and services for availability, latency, and performance.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in related areas.
• Experience with AWS Compute, Networking, Storage, and Security product features.
• Strong Infrastructure-as-Code skills and Terraform.
• Proficient in writing high-quality code in Python, Go, or equivalent languages using git-based source management systems.
• Experience with Docker-based container orchestration and management platforms, AWS EKS is preferred, ECS is a bonus.
• Experience being part of an on-call roster, able to talk to incident management experience.
• Strong networking and traffic routing knowledge, distributed systems experience is highly desirable.
