Job Description
Adyen is seeking a Senior Compliance Officer to join their Compliance Escalations team in San Francisco. Adyen is a financial technology platform that provides payments, data, and financial products in a single solution for global customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of integrity risks within the payments, financial services, or FinTech industries. They should be proactive, hands-on, and capable of managing complex compliance challenges.
What this role involves:
  • Acting as a key point of contact for escalated compliance matters.
  • Engaging with internal stakeholders to provide clarity on complex compliance issues.
  • Assessing and analyzing compliance risks related to integrity, AML/CFT, card scheme rules, and regulatory obligations.
  • Working with commercial teams to unlock new business verticals in a compliant manner.
  • Developing and implementing control frameworks.
  • Synthesizing compliance challenges into actionable steps.
  • Developing and implementing structured processes and tooling to enhance efficiency.
  • Coaching and training junior team members.
  • Collaborating with global team members across time zones.
Requirements:
  • 8-12 years of experience in a compliance, regulatory, or risk function.
  • Strong understanding of integrity risks in the payments and banking sector.
  • Thorough understanding of AML/CFT and/or consumer compliance risks.
  • Robust knowledge of regulatory and licensing regimes governing payment/e-money institutions.
  • Ability to break down complex compliance issues and communicate them effectively.
  • Critical approach, sound judgment, and quick decision-making skills.
  • Proactive and independent work ethic.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Adept at stakeholder management and balancing multiple priorities.
  • Flexibility in working with global colleagues across different time zones.
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills.
