Job Description

PlayStation Studios Mobile is seeking a Lead Engineer to spearhead performance optimization for mobile games and proprietary SDKs. This role involves establishing practices to maintain superior technical performance across the mobile game portfolio. The Lead Engineer will work remotely within the United States and contribute to the PlayStation brand, a part of Sony Interactive Entertainment.

Responsibilities:

  • Optimize runtime performance of internal SDKs for mobile games.
  • Advise teams on performance optimization using Unity and Unreal Engine.
  • Establish pipelines and processes for high technical performance.
  • Create metrics and targets for evaluating runtime performance at scale.
  • Develop SDK modules for performance telemetry and tiering.
  • Track technical changes affecting mobile game runtime performance.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in mobile game or related product development.
  • Expertise in runtime performance optimization and memory management.
  • Experience with profiling tools from OS, game engine, and chipset developers.
  • Strong understanding of CPU, GPU, memory, and I/O optimization techniques.
  • Strong C++ or C# experience.
  • Familiarity with HLSL and mobile graphics APIs (Metal, Vulkan, OpenGL ES).
  • B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent.
