Job Description

Santa Monica Studio, part of PlayStation, is seeking a DevOps/Build Engineer to work on a new, unannounced title. The candidate will be responsible for supporting complex existing architecture and building/maintaining build pipelines. They will work closely with the IT team and provide support to the studio, investigating complex problems and providing direct solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Support complex existing architecture such as Perforce, Jenkins, and proprietary in-house web services
  • Build and maintain complex build pipelines working with build tools like MSBuild and Apache Ant
  • Assist in configuring and deploying various open source and proprietary services on Linux and Windows
  • Provide support for build releases and patching, build deployment tool suite, code integration utilities, pre-commit testing utilities, and packaging pipeline
  • Identify and optimize bottlenecks/inefficiencies in our CI/CD build automation systems
  • Partner closely with our IT team to ensure a broad understanding of approaches and solutions
  • Interface and assist in supporting the studio; investigate complex problems and provide direct solutions
  • Write clear, maintainable, portable, and highly functional scripts and code
  • Implement and maintain effective reporting systems to facilitate team needs
  • Support end users with common game industry software such as Maya and Microsoft Visual Studio

Requirements:

  • Industry experience working on or shipping AAA titles
  • Strong Windows and Linux System Administration skills
  • Experience with hybrid cloud environments, supporting on-prem systems in conjunction with AWS services including RDS, ECS, and Cloudfront
  • Advanced knowledge of Jenkins, Perforce, and Python
  • Proficient in Git, REST APIs, Docker, Terraform, PowerShell, Puppet, automated testing structures and processes, build and/or content processing pipelines
  • Familiarity with compiling C++ code
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, enthusiasm, and initiative
  • Personable with excellent communication skills
  • Commitment to code quality, documentation, and sound testing procedures
