Job Description
Carta is seeking a Senior Software Engineer II to join their Private Equity team. This role involves defining requirements and building solutions for products that bridge the gap for Private Equity clients. The engineer will work within a team focused on providing real-time, intelligent insights into investments and waterfall distribution, expanding quickly to meet market demands.

Responsibilities:
  • Architect, design, and code highly available, secure, and scalable financial platforms.
  • Adhere to test-driven development (TDD) and maintain high levels of code coverage and automation.
  • Conduct timely and thoughtful peer code reviews.
  • Leverage logging and monitoring of platforms to improve observability.
  • Instrument system performance and business metrics.
  • Mentor and grow junior developers.

Requirements:
  • 6+ years of full-stack or backend engineering experience.
  • Desire to become a product domain expert and refine ambiguous product requirements.
  • Experience working with complex SaaS products with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and microservices.
  • Passion for elements of the tech stack (ReactJS, Java, Python, Datadog, REST / GRPC, Kafka, K8s, AWS).
  • Excitement to work with stakeholders across engineering, product, business, and marketing.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Eagerness to move fast while building for the future.
  • Empathy and understanding of psychological safety and diversity.
