Job Description
Amplitude is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to lead security initiatives across infrastructure and product engineering. The ideal candidate will bring a DevSecOps mindset to building automation and secure, scalable systems. This role involves collaborating with engineering teams and working across cloud security, container security, application security, and developer tooling. The Senior Security Engineer will participate in an on-call rotation to address high-risk security issues and incidents. Success in this role is measured by driving meaningful improvements in Amplitude's security posture without hindering development speed.

Role involves:
  • Harden AWS and Kubernetes environments through automation.
  • Own and evolve DevSecOps strategy.
  • Drive end-to-end secure development practices.
  • Create and implement scalable security controls.
  • Partner with engineering to mitigate risks.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for security issues.
  • Identify opportunities to fix systemic gaps.

Requirements:
  • 4+ years of experience in security engineering with a DevSecOps focus.
  • Hands-on expertise with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Strong coding/scripting skills in Python, Bash, or equivalent.
  • Experience with CI/CD platforms and integrating security controls.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and leading in fast-paced environments.
  • Willingness to go above and beyond to support teams.
