Lightspeed is seeking a Senior Design Operations professional to join their North American team. This role is crucial for fostering trust, partnership, and allyship within the company while focusing on optimizing processes, methodologies, tools, and culture for high-performing design teams. The Senior Design Operations will collaborate closely with the Design Operations Director to enhance efficiency and effectiveness across design and UX research projects.
Role Involves:
- Ensuring teams have the necessary tools, training, and documentation for effective operation.
- Building and maintaining Design and Research Operations programs, including analyzing design and research reporting based on Jira metrics.
- Identifying areas for improvement in the design and research process, and implementing solutions.
- Facilitating effective communication and timely production among team members.
- Managing sprint ceremonies, calendars, and agendas.
- Evaluating and optimizing design and research tools to enhance productivity and collaboration.
- Creating playbooks and documentation to scale alignment and best practices.
- Contributing to shaping the company culture, focusing on morale and feedback.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of industry experience on a Design team influencing culture in large matrix organizations.
- A strong understanding of how design, product, and engineering teams collaborate in the agile process.
- Experience with cross-platform design methods & programs.
- Analytical mindset for interpreting data and making decisions.
- Self-motivation and the ability to work independently.
- Strong work ethic and communication skills.
- Expertise in delivery software (Figma) and collaboration software (Jira, Monday, Miro, Figjam), and understanding of systems software (Storybook).
