Sr. Airframe Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description

Archer Aviation is seeking a Sr. Airframe Manufacturing Engineer to develop and refine manufacturing processes for airframe structures. This role involves collaborating with various teams to ensure manufacturability and regulatory compliance. The engineer will also troubleshoot build issues, create tooling solutions, and mentor junior engineers.Archer Aviation is dedicated to sustainable air mobility and operates in a rapid-iteration environment, prioritizing safety and quality.What this role involves:

• Developing and refining manufacturing processes for primary and secondary airframe structures.
• Collaborating with design, quality, and analysis teams.
• Creating and maintaining tooling solutions, fixtures, and assembly aids.
• Troubleshooting real-time build issues on the shop floor.
• Coordinating with supply chain partners and certification authorities.
• Providing mentorship to junior manufacturing engineers and technicians.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in aerospace manufacturing.
• Proficiency in CAD (e.g., CATIA, NX) and familiarity with digital manufacturing systems (PLM/MES).
• Solid understanding of DFM principles for composite structures.
• Excellent communication skills.
