Engineer, NDT Responsible Level III

Job Description

Archer Aviation is seeking a Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Responsible Level III to join their Quality Team. This role is based in Covington, Georgia, and involves overseeing the qualification and certification of NDT personnel, conducting audits of NDT systems, ensuring compliance with NDT processes, and performing NDT inspections.Archer Aviation is an aerospace company focused on electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft, committed to sustainability and diversity.What this role involves:

• Preparing and verifying work instructions for NDT methods.
• Developing and maintaining Archer NDT procedures.
• Reviewing supplier NDT procedures.
• Conducting NDT UT, PT, and/or ET Inspections.
• Analyzing inspection data and recommending improvements.
• Providing guidance to engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Serving as a liaison for NDT-related inspections.
• Training, testing, and certifying NDT inspectors.
• Performing NDT audits.

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering field or related discipline or High School diploma/Associate’s Degree with relevant experience.
• 5 years experience as a NDT RL III or 7 years experience as a NDT Method Level III (UT, PT, ET) or 7 years experience as a NDT RL III or 10 years experience as a NDT Method Level III (UT, PT, ET)
• Expertise in ultrasonic inspection of composite materials.
• Demonstrated ability to write and review NDT procedures and Inspection Reports.
• Knowledge of aircraft manufacturing and maintenance practices.
• Experience with MES/SAP systems.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

What Archer offers:

• A base pay between $129,965 - $152,900.
