Job Description
Archer Aviation is seeking a Staff Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in San Jose, California. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the mechanical design of electric engines for eVTOL applications. This role involves designing, developing, and testing high voltage, high power density motors.
  • Designing rotor, stator, and gearbox components
  • Analyzing and optimizing engine design using FEA for mechanical, thermal, acoustic, and vibration modeling
  • Supporting validation through dynamometer testing
  • Designing test equipment
  • Managing development stages from concept to production
  • Evaluating new technologies and design improvements
  • Rapid prototyping of conceptual designs
  • Generating design packages
  • Assisting with technical documents
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5 years (Bachelor's) or 1 year (Master's) of experience with NX or CAD packages, mechanical tolerance stackup analysis, GD&T, and MATLAB
