Job Description
Archer Aviation is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer to lead integration efforts for its eVTOL aircraft. This role focuses on hands-on integration and problem-solving, not system requirements or verification. The engineer will leverage their understanding of aircraft systems to plan, execute, and troubleshoot integration efforts, providing feedback to system/SW teams and ensuring continuity of integration learnings to prototype aircraft functional testing. They will also collaborate on process and infrastructure improvements for integrated labs.Role involves:
  • Leading cross-functional planning and execution of eVTOL aircraft integration.
  • Troubleshooting issues found during integration and verification.
  • Collaborating with system/SW teams on issue resolution.
  • Ensuring continuity of integration learnings to prototype aircraft functional testing.
  • Collaborating with lab staff on continuous process and infrastructure improvements.
Requirements:
  • BS/MS in mechanical, aerospace, electrical, systems, or controls engineering.
  • 8+ years of experience in complex systems (aircraft or automotive).
  • In-depth knowledge in powertrain (preferred), flight controls, or avionics.
  • Strong troubleshooting and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with programming languages (e.g., Python).
  • Experience with Model-Based Design using tools (e.g., Matlab/Simulink).
