VP of Engineering

Job Description

Nabis, the #1 Licensed Cannabis Wholesale Platform, is seeking a VP of Engineering to lead its growing Product & Engineering organization. This role involves setting the technical vision, building a strong engineering culture, and delivering high-quality software products. The VP of Engineering will report to the President and sit on the executive team.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a globally distributed engineering organization.
• Define and execute the technical roadmap.
• Architect and scale infrastructure for AI-native, data-heavy systems.
• Drive engineering excellence.
• Own hiring, org design, career development, and team performance.
• Partner with cross-functional leaders to define priorities and investments.
• Build systems that integrate automation, security, scalability, and reliability.
• Ensure contractors are effectively managed and integrated.
• Provide technical mentorship and unblock ICs and EMs.
• Represent Engineering in executive meetings.

Requirements:

• 10+ years in software engineering.
• 5+ years in engineering leadership roles.
• Experience leading distributed or hybrid teams.
• Experience with AI/ML-powered platforms.
• Background in fast-growing startups or scale-ups.
• Strong technical depth.
• Expertise in organizational design, hiring, and people development.
• Excellent cross-functional leadership and communication skills.
• Strategic operator who thrives in ambiguity.
