Sand Technologies is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to contribute to their mission of revolutionizing healthcare delivery across Africa. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team focused on expanding the Rural Health Operating System (RHOS) and digitizing healthcare clinics. This role involves working with cutting-edge technologies and making a tangible impact on communities in need.

The Senior Cloud Engineer will be responsible for designing, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes clusters. They will also develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, implement monitoring solutions, and troubleshoot infrastructure-related issues.

Role involves:

  • Designing, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes clusters.
  • Conducting R&D to address infrastructure-level challenges.
  • Developing and maintaining robust CI/CD pipelines.
  • Implementing and managing monitoring and observability configurations.
  • Overseeing the maintenance and continuous improvement of existing infrastructure.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure-related issues.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud engineering, with a focus on AWS services and infrastructure.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing scalable, secure, and efficient cloud-based solutions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and strong communication skills.
  • Expertise with AWS services (EC2, S3, Cognito, EKS, ECS, Serverless architectures, IAM, CloudFormation with CDK, SSM Secrets Manager, Elasticsearch, RDS, ElastiCache, Messaging solutions, EBS).
  • Proficiency in managing and utilizing Kubernetes clusters.
  • Solid understanding and hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, particularly using GitHub.
  • Deep understanding of computer science principles, including processor, memory, and network operations at the OS level.
