Machine Learning Scientist II - Hotels Auction Platform

Job Description

Tripadvisor is seeking a Machine Learning Scientist II to join their team in Lisbon, Portugal, focusing on the Hotels Auction platform. This role involves applying modeling and engineering skills to predictive modeling and auction dynamics. The Machine Learning Scientist will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to build ML-powered solutions, understanding partner hotel valuations and traveler preferences.Role involves:

• Designing and deploying machine learning models for core business problems.
• Identifying new opportunities for data science and machine learning.
• Prototyping, evaluating, deploying, and maintaining models in production.
• Designing and analyzing A/B tests.
• Communicating model output and performance to stakeholders.
• Determining project next steps.

Requirements:

• PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or related field (or Masters with 2+ years of experience).
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong foundation in machine learning and statistics.
• Solid foundation in data structures and algorithms.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Experience with sort and recommendation modeling (a plus).
• Experience working with real-world data (preferred).
• Previous industry experience (a plus).
