Job Description
The Financial Times (FT) is seeking a DevOps Operations Support Analyst to join their Operations Support Team in Manila. This team ensures the operational availability of services supporting the FT's global business. The role involves proactive monitoring, first-line support, and incident response across a diverse range of products and systems. The ideal candidate will contribute to service improvements, projects, and other initiatives when not on shift. This is a shift-based role, requiring work on bank holidays and weekends on a shared basis.
Role involves:
- Providing first-line support and supervising the FT’s technology estate.
- Carrying out technical and non-technical requests, such as crafting ad hoc reports.
- Managing incidents and supporting incident management processes, including liaising with third parties.
- Continuously evolving the operations of the 24x7 first-line support team.
- Pairing up with other team members to boost technical skills and capabilities.
- Promoting the team across the business by running workshops and learning sessions.
Requirements:
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Strong communication skills with a customer focus.
- Ability to understand technical issues and strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Understanding of the principles of operational support and incident management.
- Understanding of networking concepts and web technologies (advantageous).
- Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD tools like CircleCI, GitHub Actions, Terraform (advantageous).
- Experience working in an Agile environment (advantageous).
- Experience of AWS and some previous exposure to programming (advantageous).
