Job Description
The Applications Specialist role at an unspecified company involves providing technical support for the development and implementation of complex products, applications, and solutions. The specialist uses in-depth product knowledge to provide technical expertise to sales staff and customers through sales presentations and product demonstrations. They assist the sales staff in assessing potential applications of company products to meet customer needs and may prepare detailed product specifications for the development and implementation of customer products/applications/solutions.
Role involves:
- Providing technical consultancy on the use of mass photometry in different applications.
- Fostering increased product usage and support sales efforts through technical presentations, product demonstrations and running customer samples.
- Production of post-demo & sample job reports.
- Presentation of experimental reports in collaboration with the Technical Sales Specialist.
- Designing experimental plans in collaboration with the customer, and manage the administrative tasks leading to successful completion of the demonstration/sample job.
- Accompanying sales representatives in customer laboratories to provide technical and applications assistance.
- Contributing customer feedback (report on competitors’ products) to service and marketing, for future improvement of our product and services.
- Supporting regional marketing initiatives alongside sales.
- Assisting in creation and review of technical literature and training resources.
- Contributing to maintain accurate customer support information in our CRM (Salesforce).
- Communicating effectively with customers and team members.
- Providing basic and advanced training to customers.
- Seeking out and provide market and applications knowledge to help develop new applications on existing technology and improve existing technology to become new products.
Requirements:
- Masters or PhD in biochemistry, molecular biology, biophysics or other relevant subject (or equivalent experience).
- Driver’s license and vehicle required, as this territory requires a lot of driving.
