Software Engineer III, Desktop Foundation

Job Description

Box, the market leader for Cloud Content Management, is seeking a Software Engineer III, Desktop Foundation to join their Warsaw, Poland office. This role within the Desktop Foundation team will focus on building, maintaining, and improving CI/CD pipelines, release processes, and monitoring infrastructure. The engineer will collaborate with other software engineers to ensure confident shipping and management of features in production.

The Desktop Foundation team manages critical infrastructure, tooling, and core SDKs that keep the Desktop org productive. They are responsible for CI/CD pipelines, test infrastructure, developer tooling, release automation, and backend services that process error logs and support product health insights.

What this role involves:

• Collaborating with the Desktop Windows Engineering team in Warsaw and the Desktop Foundation team in Redwood City, California.
• Building, maintaining, and improving tooling and frameworks that support the team's ability to build enterprise-grade products.
• Defining and documenting technical designs and processes.
• Researching and proposing various design approaches.
• Working with a variety of systems from CI systems to tiered release systems, metric ingestion to automation frameworks.
• Developing metrics, alerts, and reports that help monitor the health of infrastructure systems.

Requirements:

• Practical experience managing jobs and pipelines for CI/CD and SCM solutions like Jenkins, Github, etc.
• Practical experience managing VMs of different types and associated tools like Ansible.
• 2+ years of development or operations experience.
• Proficiency in any modern programming language (e.g. Python, Java, Go), and knowledge of software design principles.
• Familiarity with any modern testing framework and testing methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• A degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
