Senior Engineering Lead (US)

Job Description

Very Good Ventures is seeking a Senior Engineering Lead to embed deeply in client engagements, write code, architect scalable solutions, and coach teams through technical and business challenges. The role involves leading cross-functional teams, shaping technical strategy, and driving business success, particularly in Flutter and full-stack solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Build excellent software products and drive technical excellence.
• Consult and advise clients on key technical decisions.
• Lead engineering teams and evaluate team performance.
• Support business growth and shape technical strategy.
• Ensure the success of programs and the team.
• Refine and envision engineering processes.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of software development experience, with a strong track record in mobile (Flutter preferred) and full-stack development.
• 4+ years in a technical leadership role, leading teams, mentoring other leaders and engineers, and driving architectural decisions.
• Experience in a consulting or client-facing role, demonstrating the ability to advise stakeholders, scope projects, and navigate business challenges.
• Pre-sales or business development exposure.
• Cloud expertise (preferred but not required).
• Professional experience with AI Engineering (LLMs, prompting, RAG, fine tuning…) will be highly appreciated.
• Excellent communication in English, both written and spoken.
