AV Support Engineer

Job Description

WPP is seeking an AV Support Engineer to join their IT team in Amsterdam. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of AV equipment within the Amsteldok building's meeting rooms. This role involves providing technical assistance to users, performing regular maintenance, and supporting a range of audio-visual needs for meetings, conferences, and events.

The AV Engineer will act as the primary point of contact for AV support, assisting users with setup and troubleshooting, and maintaining an inventory of AV equipment. They will also collaborate with facilities and IT teams to understand AV requirements for live or hybrid events.

What this role involves:

• Acting as the primary point of contact for AV support in meeting rooms.
• Assisting users in setting up and troubleshooting AV equipment.
• Providing hands-on support with AV hardware and software.
• Conducting regular checks and performing diagnostics on AV equipment.
• Maintaining an inventory of AV equipment.
• Providing on-site AV support for internal and external events.
• Collaborating with facilities and IT teams for live or hybrid events.
• Documenting common issues and resolutions.
• Generating reports on AV equipment performance.

Requirements:

• Proven experience with AV systems, including video conferencing (Microsoft Teams) and AV control systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of networking systems and event supporting hardware.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A customer-service mindset.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple support requests.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining an organized AV environment.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to other sites, such as Eindhoven.
• Flexibility to work outside standard business hours for event support.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Certification in AV systems or related fields (e.g., CTS, CTS-I).
• Prior experience in a corporate environment supporting AV in meeting rooms or events.
